Prize bond winnings in Pakistan are subject to withholding tax. A filer on the FBR active taxpayer list pays 15%, while a non-filer pays 30%. On the first prize of Rs. 3,000,000 that means a filer receives Rs. 2,550,000 while a non-filer receives only Rs. 2,100,000. The full breakdown for every prize position is in the tax table above.
A standard bearer-bond prize may be claimed for six years from 15 August 2022 — until 15 August 2028. Take the original bond, original CNIC and completed PB-23 form to the relevant National Savings, authorised bank or SBP BSC office. The bond must have been issued at least 60 days before this draw, subject to the official rules. See the step-by-step claim guide.
The Rs. 1,500 prize bond is a bearer security — whoever holds the bond can claim the prize, so it should be kept somewhere safe. A lost bearer bond cannot be replaced. Draws are held four times a year, each time in a different city, by a committee of the Central Directorate of National Savings using a Hand Operated Drawing Machine in front of the public. The next Rs. 1,500 draw is draw no 92 scheduled for 15 November 2022 at Karachi — see the full draw schedule.
